Kobo Clara Colour Review: The Best Budget Color E-Reader?

The Verge ↗ ·

Kobo’s Clara Colour lands at a compelling price point for the first color e-reader that doesn’t feel like a compromise. The Kaleido 3 display renders book covers and comics with noticeably better saturation than its predecessor, though color text highlighting remains the killer feature for students.

Battery life remains class-leading, and OverDrive library integration continues to be a major differentiator over Kindle. The lack of a warm front light and the slightly washed-out color rendering in direct sunlight are the main caveats at this price.

Verdict: A genuinely good color e-reader at a price that makes the upgrade worthwhile if you read anything with color content.
